Early beginnings and career
Chandler Bolt was born and raised in Walhalla, South Carolina. He is the younger brother of Seth Bolt, the bassist from the popular rock band, NEEDTOBREATHE.
He had years of experience starting and profiting from small-scale businesses in his teens.
When he was 18, he ran Student Painters, a franchise-type internship that was an exterior house painting company. He made the business six figures in only seven months, and was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 2012.
While interning at Student Painters and attending classes, Chandler Bolt co-authored and self-published a time management book titled The Productive Person in November 2013.
The book quickly generated nearly $7,000 in its first month, which he split with his business partner, James Roper, whom he met at Student Painters. The book continued to earn a steady income of between $2,000 and $5,000 each month.
When Bolt was a sophomore at the College of Charleston, he decided to drop out of school. He had already seen success in business, and felt like school was simply holding him back from his true calling.
“I got tired of learning how to run a business from professors who had never run a business. That didn’t make too much sense to me. And I was learning more by actually running businesses.”
Many people came to Chandler Bolt inquiring about his success with business and with books. He figured if enough people were interested, he might as well see if he could help. So he did a test pilot – he sold 44 people into a self-publishing class and brought in $86,000.
The Self-Publishing School was born.
Chandler Bolt is a firm believer that everyone has a story inside them – it’s just a matter of figuring out how to write the book. And through selfpublishing.com, Bolt has provided them with the roadmap to do it.
