Jasmine Parker is a a Registered Nurse, Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, and the Founder of Love, Your Thyroid as well as the author of Hidden Healing.
She has had a passion for medicine and helping others from an early age, and it was her personal struggle with autoimmune thyroid issues that ultimately ignited her mission.
Jasmine actually started her book during her health crisis. She used the pages as a journaling outlet to help deal with what was happening to her. She didn’t consider it for serious production until after she started her business to help women just like her with Hashimoto’s.
Book Title: Hidden Healing: Unmasking Thyroid Autoimmunity and Winning the Fight Over Brain Fog, Fatigue, and Anxiety. A Registered Nurse’s Guide to Finding Freedom from Hashimoto’s
Genre: Health & Wellness
Website: Jasmine Parker
Who is this book for?
This book is for Career Women ages 25-45 who are struggling with brain fog, fatigue, anxiety and are desperate for answers and those diagnosed with Hashimoto’s.
What inspired you to write about Hashimoto’s?
I started my business to help women just like me with Hashimoto’s and then realized I couldn’t help all the women I wanted doing 1:1 work, I needed to spread this information to the masses in the form of a book.
What will people learn from reading Hidden Healing?
Ultimately, that there is hope even with what they are going through and also –
- you are not alone
- there is more to Hashimoto’s care beyond thyroid medication
- what a whole-body approach to Hashimoto’s looks like
Tell us about your own journey as a healthcare writer – what was that like?
It was my own health crisis that ended up leading to an autoimmune diagnosis and that was just the beginning of what became a journey to remission.
As a medical professional, it was hard for me to navigate I cannot imagine those who don’t have a medical background.
I also imagined a more adventurous life for myself and wasn’t going to sit back and allow this diagnosis to take over my life, I had to fight to figure out how to put my health back into my own hands.
Did you experience any challenges while writing?
Reliving the trauma, the first chapter is still hard for me to read, but I read it out loud and I let the emotions flood in order to process and be proud of how far I have come.
The limiting mindset that I don’t know enough to write but I reminded myself that I am the woman for the job and not to give up because someone out there needs this story.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to use my book as a lead magnet for my business. One day I plan on updating it and relaunching to reach even more people in the future and create a greater impact.
