About the Position
Job Responsibilities
The Content Marketing & SEO Specialist is responsible for growing traffic on selfpublishing.com. This is done by prioritizing whatever you see fit that will grow that # as fast as possible. The goal here is to grow “high intent traffic” (aka. people who are likely to do business with us to help with their book), not vanity traffic that’s unlikely to convert.
Your day to day duties will likely include:
- Blog post updates & republishing for user experience / reader improvements – this includes, but is not limited to blog post consolidations, image and link fixes, having the right CTA for right posts, re-writing or improving the writing, adding videos to posts, etc.
- On page SEO optimizations
- Technical SEO fixes: fixing broken links, internal linking, schema, 301’s, etc
- Backlink acquisition: create content and infographics that grows the # of inbound links the site is getting and outbound reach to help grow our backlink profile
- Improving the overall quality of the content and user experience on the site.
- Publishing new articles on the site (when necessary) – this includes, but isn’t limited to uploading posts, SEO on page improvements to raise RankMath scores, following publication process checklist / project.
- Adding & updating affiliate links (when affiliates are mentioned) to improve Affiliate Revenue from organic sources

- SEO Health / Site Authority
Compensation Structure
- Competitive pay: $50,000-$100,000 annual base pay varying with experience
- Performance Based Bonus Potential: 0 to 30% of base income bonus dependent on revenue growth through traffic (The sky’s the limit and this number can be more based on performance.)
- Top tier healthcare: Your choice of high quality healthcare (For US-based full-time employees)
- Self-Care budget: $3,000 annual to be used for massages, house cleanings, or even date nights with your spouse
Work remotely: save $5k/year in commuting costs and 100+ hrs each year (aka. 2 ½ extra weeks of vacation time)

Weekly Schedule
This is a 100% work from home position with the expectation of 45 hours a week of availability. You are welcome to open additional slots on a given week if you would like. The hours can be quite flexible, since we have apsiring authors all around the world.

Required:
- Experience doubling or tripling traffic on a site using great content and SEO
- Deep SEO knowledge
- Great writer
- Personally passionate and knowledgeable about the book industry
