Hey T. Nae! Thanks for chatting with us. Let’s start with a brief overview of Wholly Powered. What can a reader expect?
Food became the bane of my existence at seven years old when my sister was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and intensified years later when my best friend struggled with anorexia. I have been obsessed with analyzing food for fifty years. Faith on the other hand, is a healthy fascination that nourishes my heart and mind and saves me from food-fretting misery.
By professional standards, I would be unqualified to give mind, body, and spirit advice. But I have learned the best teachers are those with experience, offering expertise that textbooks cannot convey. So after decades of following my passion for faith and food, and their link to fitness, I concocted an extraordinary recipe that gives us power to live joyfully, vibrantly, and fully. Wholly Powered is an offering of this recipe—my personal experiences and insights that guide others to revive their spirit, mind, body, heart, and soul.
What inspired you to write on this unique topic?
I was inspired to write about natural healing and true wellness because millions of people are suffering needlessly. The majority of Americans are physically sick, depressed, or unfulfilled, and they’re masking symptoms and numbing pain to get through each painful or meaningless day.
I want everyone to know that there is an alternative. There is a way to live each day energized and feeling alive with a rewarding purpose. All we have to do is commit to daily habits that nourish us entirely—spirit, mind, body, heart, and soul.
Who absolutely must read your book?
Anyone looking for hope, healing, peace, energy, authenticity, creativity, and optimal living. If you are unhealthy or unhappy, Wholly Powered will motivate you to focus on who is important and what is meaningful so that you can uncover your natural talents and discover your purpose.
What are the top 3 things someone will learn from reading your book?
- We pay a price when we betray ourselves. We spiritually and soulfully ache, our mind and body break, and our heart pleads for realness.
- When we live and love genuinely and graciously, we resuscitate ourselves and each other, we gather first-hand knowledge and garner wisdom from those who are wiser—we encourage hearts, expand minds, inspire goals, and lighten loads; together, we all ripen to wholehearted souls.
- We heal for real and completely when we embrace faith, energize our body and mind, elevate our heart, and embody our soul.
Did you have any special or specific ways to get the writing process complete?
I am most inspired and tap into creativity best when I run miles or spend time in nature. So after every morning run, walk, or quiet time in the sun, I would put my thoughts to paper. After the first draft, I would read and rewrite, over and over, until I loved the outcome. That was actually my favorite part of the process: reading and refining sentences, over and over; finding better words and adjectives to help the reader relate and be inspired.
What was the hardest part about turning your experience into a book?
The only challenge I had was that I have a very busy life with a family business so I had limited hours each day. I enjoyed the process and had faith that eventually the book would come to life.
What are your plans for the future with this book and/or your business?
I want as many people as possible to become aware of their natural healing power and to be encouraged and motivated to live and love their fullest potential.
I just want everyone to taste and see how good they can feel and how beautiful life can be.
When we are no longer weary and aimless, we live and love wholeheartedly.
