Self Publishing's Graphic Design Service

The self publishing "How to" books say a good book cover design from a qualified graphic designer costs in excess of $2000. Not so with SelfPublishing.com's Graphic Design Service.

We will work with you to create an original graphic design giving your project the edge that makes a difference. We understand the specific needs of small press publishers, independent self-publishers and not-for-profits, as well as the larger traditional trade book publishers. Services available include book cover design, casewrap design, book jacket design, text layout, barcodes, image scanning as well as graphic design services for marketing materials such as posters, postcards, bookmarks and brochures.

You will be working with a staff headed by Jonathan Gullery, a graphic designer with well over 25 years in the business.

What You Can Expect

We respect the hard work you have put into your book, and believe that you deserve to get a product you can be proud of. We will quickly provide you with pdf samples and work with you to get your book into print.

Our years of experience in design will show in the way we treat you and your project. Whether you are looking for a traditional approach or cutting-edge design, we want YOU to be in charge. We'll suggest ideas, and tell you if we think something won't work, but this is your project, not ours.

Original Cover Design

Give us your title, subject matter and a description of your book and we'll come up with an original design that works using graphic art and photography from our own extensive library, or from a wide variety of FREE available resources! We can design a cover concept that WILL work and WILL help you to sell your book. You can supply us with artwork to use if you prefer. Or you can just say "Here's my material—go for it!"

Don't Forget the Back Cover!

Did you know that the average piece of unsolicted mail is looked at for less than two seconds and thrown away? Don't let your book become a discard like that. You have to tell potential customers the compelling reasons why they must buy your book—all in the shortest space possible. You have to write a blurb to get customers to keep your book in their hands and take it to the register. Keep these points in mind:

  • What is your subject matter?
  • Who is your audience?
  • Where will your book sell, book stores or specialty markets?

Your Text

We'll take your text document and make it look great. Whatever category your book belongs in, novel, self-help, autobiography, children's, business, cookbook . . . it deserves to look the best. We'll suggest appropriate fonts and an original layout. We'll also help you establish what trim size is best for both the genre of book, and your budget.
